From a natural beach through an underwater archeological site to a dog beach

Izola has the most diverse beaches in Slovenia. Out of a total of more than 40 km of the Slovenian coast, to Izola belongs a little more than 8 km of the coast, where there are swimming pools, natural or. wild beaches, beaches with the most beautiful views of the Alps, to the underwater archeological site (Archaeological Park Simon’s Bay), all the way to the beach for the disabled and blind and partially sighted and last but not least beaches for pets, dog beaches.

Natural beach under the cliff of the Strunjan Landscape Park

All of you who love nature, freedom and above all peace far away from the hustle and bustle, are located for you under the cliff of the Strunjan Landscape Park – Bele skale, a natural beach that is accessible both by land and by sea.

The beach under the Belvedere

Below the hotel’s tourist resort Belvedere, there is one of the more popular beaches for young people, the swimming pool below Belvedere, where there is a small concrete beach and a wooden pier for adrenaline jumps into the sea.

The beach in Simon’s Bay

Simon’s Bay is known as the most family-friendly part of the coast. The sandy bay, the volleyball court and the water slide are the ideal combination for a family holiday at the sea.

Beach at the lighthouse overlooking the Alps

Locals and recently also tourists love one of the most iconic beaches in Slovenian Istria, the bathing area at the lighthouse, located on the outskirts of the town of Izola, on the cape next to the lighthouse on Petelinji rt. From the beach there is a view of Koper, Debeli rtič and Trieste on one side, and the Strunjan landscape park on the other side. From the beach, the view extends on clear days to the beautiful snow-capped Alps.

Beaches for the disabled and the blind and visually impaired

Next to the beach at the lighthouse to the east are beaches for the disabled and blind and partially sighted, where there are two small pools and a concrete beach with regulated access to the sea for those who need help accessing the sea, including wheelchairs.

Dog beach

Further east, on the very border with the once functioning dock of the Izola Shipyard, there is a beach for four-legged dog pets, where we can indulge in the joys of the sea with them.
